CNC Construction recently hired Jessie Lynn Images to complete their logo design project. The focus was to create something that had a feminine flair and showed that the company was woman-owned and ran. We went with a fuchsia- purple color that was ultra-feminine (with some punch) and surrounded it by a warm-soothing yet strong brown. The internal set of the square logo mark is taken from the illustrative capital “N” in a script font.
Next came CNC’s business card design. The client liked the textured, painterly look, so we weathered the surface of the business card; the combination created something sophisticated and sturdy, perfect for a woman-owned construction company. Thank you to CNC.

This painting was long-in-coming, so sorry to all who were waiting on it’s final version. But, here it is, after possibly over a year’s worth of time, it is finally complete. I am proud of her, although she is not perfect, neither am I.
This painting was originally inspired by a beautiful photograph taken by Gertrude Kasebier in the 1920′s. I was overtaken by the woman’s beauty and the softness of the lens. The woman’s sexuality took me off guard: soft and brazen all at the same time, a dichotomy found in most women today.
The woman, in my painting, went through many transformations and layers of paint. I replaced the original cistern or pitcher in her hand for a candle. The light of the candle burns and is representative of what she is offering to the (special) viewer or to whom we imagine she is waiting for. Instead of having a shadow behind her, which might have been more technically appropriate, there is a glow that off-sets her dark hair. It is done in golden yellows and terracotta oranges. These recede into dusty greens; the combination having the effect of pushing your eye towards the woman’s face and her gaze. The light in her hand, the light behind her head, and what is emanating from her heart are all the same, three-in-one.
A price for this painting has not been set yet, but I would be willing to negotiate offers or take requests for prints. If there is a great enough response for prints per request, I will consider running a batch.

Catering Website
This past November, Jessie Lynn Images, created a brand new website for Cambridge Catering out of NYC. Moving away from the concentration of the aqua blue in the original website, we decided to move towards a warmer more modern coco-brown background that compliments the bright orange, aqua, and lime green found in the original logo. To host Cambridge’s large catering menu, we chose to use a drop-down menu for ease if use. To high-light up-and-coming items or pages of interest we went with the modern yet simple use of the rounded square elements.

Proud of Your Marketing Tools:
A great way to invest back into your business is to take a good look at your marketing tools. Are they outdated? Are they communicating what you intended? Are they presenting in a way that you are proud and that is consistent with your brand?
A Recent Example of a Marketing Make-Over:
Prospect Hall (a private shooting club in WV), just revamped their marketing look with a fresh make-over. We refreshed their existing logo, made away with an outdated website, and took their new web-look as inspiration for creating a simply-classy business card.
How the Project Started: the Logo
Every 5 to 10 years you should take a fresh look at your logo. Is it current with the times? As your business has grown, changed, and expanded; is it still speaking well and accurately on the business’s behalf? (See Pricing for a New Logo)
Prospect Hall decided it was time to take new look at their existing logo. We tweaked a few key aspects of the logo to render a more accurate depiction of the feel that Prospect Hall actually exudes and what it offers to its members. For example, the original somewhat “sturdy” font used in the existing logo was not speaking well to the class and sophistication found at Prospect Hall. It was replaced with a more distinguished and somewhat stately font combination. Imagery within the actual crest, was replaced with more compelling and accurate imagery; putting the focus more on the shooting sports and hunting activities vs. the fishing offered there.
Because fishing was still an aspect in which Prospect Hall might want to develop further in the future, we included the small touch of a fishing lure to the end of the “P” in Prospect Hall. The red wrapper around the crest was altered from its original rose-red to a cooler-red, to further complement the existing colors in the logo.

What Came Next: the Website
Because the majority of Prospect Hall’s activities are preformed in the great outdoors, their new website exhibits a pallete of earthy colors similar to what you would find in the tall grasses and expanding fields found on their property. Their logo is prominently displayed next to a cascading view of changing pictures of the property in a custom Flash Slide-Show. Key points about the club are highlighted on the homepage and the site is now information rich for potential members to research and dive into. Here are two illustrations completed for the Old Opera House’s presentation and advertising of their two upcoming youth productions of: Up the Down Staircase and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.These are pieced together from purchased and then altered vectors, cutting down the cost of what an official, completely custom logo would total.
Logo Design, Woman Owned Business

Here is a recent logo I completed for a woman-owned consulting firm in Texas; Willow Tree Consultants. They specialize in training and encouraging women who are taking on non-traditional roles in the workplace.
The client went for a more modern flair, perhaps appealing to the younger generations who are still facing traditional pigeon-holing.
She was supplied with 3 logo versions: one without the tag-line, one with the tagline, and one that replaced “Consultants” with “Risk Management” so that the logo could be used interchangably when different assets of the business were being highlighted.
New Catering Menu Cover and Real Estate Flyer
Here are some new projects I have been working on. One is a Menu Cover for a fantastic catering company in NYC called E&E Catering. The other is a flyer for a wonderful Realty Office called The Kable Team.

E&E was looking for something fresh and modern to match the existing internal design.

The Kable Team was looking for something to grab the attention of First-Time Home-Buyers. I chose images that went along with their red, gold, black, and white motif found in their logo. The single red house in the bottom image represents that one house that you single out and fall in love with for the first-time home-buyer. The house in the key-chain elegantly echoes the house in their logo as well as the single red house in the bottom image, as it silently describes how The Kable Team can help you find your new home.

She’s coming along slowly, but she’s nearing the end! (very exciting!)…I’m imagining adding some more detail to the light flickering from the candle; extending its burn out towards the warmth I’ve already put into her arms, the underbelly of her dress, and her hands!
